DAFFODIL

Today was a grand day. Alhamdulillah. Early start. Long drive. Daffodil picking. Breakfast picnic with the family. Errands. Day well spent. Actually, to be honest, there was a fluke. Today we were supposed to drive out to a farm to adopt our soon to be pet chickens. As our destination approached we noticed that suburbia had taken over. There was no farm. No farm meant no chickens which was quite saddening. However, what was more of a heartbreak was the fact that the farm we had tirelessly visited as a child, was now gone. I was quite eager to re-experience the horse petting, chicken/duck chasing and even the occasional ducking from the swooping blue jays. I guess we all just have to make the most of our present as it may be limited or non-existent in the future.
